The eyes are the window to the soul, and if yours are dry, irritated, red, itchy or painful, you might find it hard to do some soul searching. Fear not! We have an easy and effective home remedy for you using one of our favorite Chinese herbs.

Ju hua (pronounced “joo hwah”), or Chrysanthemem flower, is native to China and Japan but now grows worldwide and is used medicinally in many cultures. In Chinese medicine, we use the dried flower to address issues associated with the Liver meridian.

The Liver meridian is responsible for the proper flow of energy throughout the body, and especially in the eyes. It makes sense if you look at the meridian pathway, which begins in the big toe, travels up the inner leg into the abdomen where it connects to the liver and gallbladder organs, then continues up the throat until it reaches the eyes. In Chinese medicine we say the liver “opens to the eyes”, meaning it’s the primary meridian associated with vision issues.

Liver imbalances can lead to a host of eye issues, including myopia, astigmatism, dry eyes, floaters, glaucoma, cataracts, red and dry eyes, bloodshot eyes, poor night vision, blurry vision, and headaches.

Click on the video below for a simple yet very effective remedy for your eyes that you can do in the comfort of your own home.
